Water Calculations

What is a Water Calculation?

A Water Calculation is required by Part G of the Building Regulations for all new dwellings (including those created by change of use).  This sets a whole building standard of 125 litres per person per day for domestic buildings.  In some areas the requirements can be lower or if Code for Sustainable Homes is required.

When do I need a Water Calculation?

If you are building a new home you will need to calculate the water consumption of the dwelling. This is calculated using details of the actual fittings, or assumptions if fitting details are not available, and is calculated in litres per person per day.
